Worthington hated Titans spray tan
Sam Worthington wields swords, battles gods and kills giant scorpions in Clash Of The Titans, but he confessed his biggest challenge was getting a spray tan.
The Australian actor, star of Avatar, insists he is naturally "pasty" and hated standing naked in a paper thong every morning getting a Grecian tan for his role as hero Perseus in the 3D action epic.
Sam revealed at the world premiere in London: "The biggest challenge was getting a tan on - I'm quite pasty for an Australian so if I burn I peel, a bit like Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient, so I had to get tanned up every morning."
He added: "I feel sorry for those ladies, they need to get paid danger money, not me. Standing every morning in a paper thong isn't my idea of a good breakfast."
But unlike the rest of the cast, the leading man didn't suffer the on-set injuries they dubbed 'Clash Rash'.
He revealed: "They got it, I didn't. I stayed on my feet a bit longer."
The star said he wasn't worried about remaking the classic movie as he felt the new technology added to the story.
Sam said: "It's nerve-wracking doing any film, seriously.
"We just saw the original and we thought, is it worth improving on. And we can do that now with visual effects."
