Christoph Waltz has picked up a growing army of fans since making Inglourious Basterds, including celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
Speaking outside of the Kodak Theatre where all the action is set to take place, the chef - who will be cooking for the stars after the ceremony finishes at this year's Governor's Ball - said his loyalties are with Christoph picking up a statuette on Sunday.
He said: "We have an Austrian nominated as Best Supporting Actor, Christoph Waltz - I have to root for him, I was rooting for the Austrian skiers during the Olympics and they didn't win anything so I think we've got a second chance now!"
The chef promised to give the Austrian star a little taste of home should he win.
"I'll get him a Weiner Schnitzel on Monday if the Austrian wins," he laughed. "We have to give him some Austrian food."
