Christopher Walken is the first star to be cast in Clint Eastwood's film adaptation of the musical Jersey Boys.
The Deer Hunter star will play Jersey mobster Angelo "Gyp" DeCarlo in the movie version of the stage show about Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons, reported Deadline.
In the award-winning show, DeCarlo takes the young singers under his wing as they try to build their careers without falling into a life of crime.
Christopher, 70, a trained danced who has previously starred in West Side Story, is expected to start work on the film this summer.
It has already been revealed that director Clint is considering stage actors, rather than big Hollywood names, to play the singers.
Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza has also been linked to the film.
Jersey Boys opened on Broadway in 2005 and won four Tony awards and a Grammy, plus an Olivier award after opening in the West End in 2008.
Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons star Bob Gaudio will be executive producer on the film.
