Wahlberg and Ferrell admit rivalry
Will Ferrell has admitted there was on-set rivalry between him and Mark Wahlberg while filming new movie The Other Guys.
The hit comedian and the Oscar-nominated Departed star play partners in the spoof cop buddy film, directed by Anchorman's Adam McKay, and while they got on well, they revealed there was healthy competition between them.
Will said: "[Mark] would challenge me to pull-up contests every now and then. I can only do about one-and-a-half, he can probably do 15. That was the only time it got awkward."
He joked: "He did have his Oscar nomination envelope in a frame on-set with him at all times... then I showed him my ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards)."
Speaking about what his Oscar nomination brought to the comedy, Mark joked: "Nothing! Nothing, they don't give a s**t! I say I got nominated for an Oscar, he tells me he's won two ESPY's, he's trumped me."
Will insists viewers will be blown away by the action comedy, which also stars Eva Mendes.
He joked: "Not only does it have action, a great cast and is very funny, but we've got Na'vi's from Avatar, we've got vampires in it.
"Its not in 3D, it's in 5D, you have to get a computer chip embedded in your skull to watch it. It's a small procedure, it's not a big deal. It's got every bell and whistle you could hope for."
:: The Other Guys is released in cinemas in September.
