Twilight series tops nominations
The Twilight series has scooped five nominations at this year's National Movie Awards.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon is battling it out against 3D adventures Avatar and Alice In Wonderland in the fantasy category of the awards, which are voted for by the public.
Meanwhile the next chapter in the tale, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is vying to be named the most anticipated movie of the summer, against the likes of The A-Team, The Karate Kid, Shrek Forever After and Sex And The City 2.
Twilight actors Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have been nominated against each other for the performance of the year.
The category is also a battle for Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince actors, with Emma Watson, named in February by Vanity Fair magazine as Hollywood's highest-paid female star, in the running alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
The Harry Potter movie is also nominated in the family category.
Voting forms for the winners are being made available in UK cinemas, national newspapers and magazines.
The glitzy award bash, celebrating the most successful films shown in the UK, will take place in London and air live on ITV1 in late May.
Elaine Bedell, ITV's director of entertainment and comedy, said: "The National Movie Awards celebrate the very best of what the film industry has offered from the past year and for the first time ever our viewers will have a front row seat for all the action as it happens live on ITV1."
