Twilight leads MTV Movie Awards
Twilight has 'eclipsed' the competition at the MTV Movie Awards, leading with an impressive eight nominations.
Eclipse, the third instalment of the vampire saga, nabbed nominations for best movie, best fight between Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, and two in the best kiss category - for Kristen Stewart (Bella) with Taylor Lautner (Jacob), and Kristen with R-Patz as her vampire boyfriend.
Inception came second with seven nods, followed by Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One with six, The Social Network with five nominations, and Black Swan with four. All are up for best movie.
Leading the Brit pack are Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, who face the Twilight cast Robert, Kristen and Taylor in the best female and male performance categories.
Russell Brand has also been praised for his performance in Get Him To The Greek, having scooped a nod for best comedic performance, alongside Adam Sander, Ashton Kutcher, Emma Stone and Zach Galifinakis.
I Am Number Four's Alex Pettyfer is also in the running for Biggest Bada** Star, where his rivals include Kick-Ass's Chloe Moretz, The Karate Kid's Jaden Smith, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) and Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man 2).
Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards will take place on June 5 in California.
