Tomlinson in Jack the Giant Killer?
Eleanor Tomlinson has reportedly bagged the female lead in Bryan Singer's new fairytale flick Jack the Giant Killer.
The British actress, who is said to have battled against the likes of Adelaide Kane (formerly of Neighbours) and Juno Temple (St. Trinian's) to win the lead role, will star opposite teen heartthrob Nicholas Hoult, who is set to play hero Jack.
According to Deadline, 19-year-old Alice in Wonderland star Eleanor will be playing the role of the princess, Jack's damsel in distress, who he meets early on.
Set to be released in 2012, the movie is based on the well-known tale of how lowly farmer boy Jack turns valiant saviour when, after fleeing from the kingdom, the princess is kidnapped by giants. Determined to save his perfect stranger, Jack conjures up a plan to rescue the princess from her impending doom.
Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor are also reportedly in talks to star in the film, while Stanley Tucci has already signed up to play one of the villainous roles in the movie.
Bryan Singer teams up with Darren Lemke and Mark Bomback and his Usual Suspects scriptwriter Christopher McQuarrie to create what many are tipping to be a visual spectacle of giant proportions.
