Timberlake strikes Gold in new film
Justin Timberlake has apparently signed up to star in new music biopic Spinning Gold.
The singer-turned-actor, currently starring alongside Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits, will play 1970s record producer Neil Bogart in the film, Deadline reports.
Justin is also said to be making his debut as a co-producer on the movie, penned by Neil's son Tim.
The film tells the rags-to-riches story of the Brooklyn-born mogul, who went on to become a multimillionaire and help found the Casablanca label that kick-started the careers of stars such as KISS and Donna Summer.
Tim Bogart said: "This is a saga about a young dreamer who started with nothing and came of age in the '60s and '70s, believing anything was possible and every risk was worth taking."
He added: "When Justin walked into the room, that was the moment I had been waiting for, for 29 years. He has the exact same energy as my father, the same glimmer in his eye."
Talks are said to be underway with possible directors, and production is expected to begin before the end of 2012.
