Streep's Thatcher 'sympathetic'
Meryl Streep's portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady will be "sympathetic", according to her co-star Jim Broadbent.
The actress is reuniting with her Mamma Mia! director Phyllida Lloyd to make the film about the former British prime minister, which is due to start filming in January.
Harry Potter star Jim will play Thatcher's husband Denis.
He said: "Of course it will be a sympathetic portrayal, that's what he was, he was very sympathetic. It'll be a sympathetic portrayal of Margaret as well."
Rev actress Olivia Colman is reported to be playing their daughter Carol, while newcomer Alexandra Roach will play Thatcher in her 20s.
