Spencer Tracy film State Of The Union is set to be remade.
The movie - based on the political play by Pulitzer Prize-winners Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse - was released in 1948 and also starred Katharine Hepburn and Angela Lansbury.
Variety has reported that Identity Films and Flat Penny Films are working on a new feature version of the drama.
Spencer played a Republican hopeful running for president, with Angela as a newspaper magnate backing him. Katharine co-starred as the estranged wife of Spencer's character.
The producers are currently seeking writers for the film.
