Steve McQueen has visited the Houses of Parliament to promote his latest film, 12 Years a Slave.
Ed Miliband and Speaker John Bercow were among politicians welcoming the director to Westminster.
A special private screening of the film - which is tipped for success at the Oscars and BAFTAs - has been held for MPs and peers.
Mr Bercow said: "Steve McQueen is an inspiration to us all.
"I am honoured to welcome him to the Houses of Parliament and wish him every success at the Oscars."
