Sigourney Weaver has said it was "odd" she ended up in the Alien movies.
The actress, whose superstardom took on a whole new trajectory as a result of the sci-fi flicks, has insisted her roots are totally different.
"It was kind of an odd thing that I ended up playing such a serious character in Alien," she explained at the premiere of her new comedy You Again.
"I kind of came out of comedy. Although people don't realise it, I did mostly comedy in New York theatre," she said.
The actress added she'd struggled to find her way when first starting out as an actress.
"I really didn't know what I was doing then. Comedy, I've always loved. I think it's just in my blood," she said.
The actress also revealed she enjoyed working with You Again's mostly-female cast, which includes Jamie Lee Curtis and Kristen Bell.
"It was just a love fest. It was an ensemble made in heaven and I think the enjoyment we had together really informs the movie," she said.
