Andy Serkis has reportedly been signed up to star in the sequel to Rise Of Planet Of The Apes.
The Lord Of The Rings actor hadn't signed up for a follow-up in his contract, so Fox has stumped up a seven figure dollar deal to secure him for the new film, according to Deadline.
Andy, who played Caesar in the movie, will apparently join director Rupert Wyatt, whose original deal came with a sequel option.
Screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are also locked in for the sequel, but it is not known whether Freida Pinto and James Franco will join them.
Fox is apparently mounting a campaign to see Andy nominated for an Oscar for his role.
