Scott: I enjoyed Goon fight scenes
Seann William Scott has admitted he was petrified at the prospect of fighting Liev Schreiber for his latest role in the slapstick comedy Goon.
The American Pie star plays Doug Glatt, a dimwitted yet kind-hearted bouncer who overcomes the odds to lead a minor ice hockey team to glory. The film focuses on the brutal nature of the sport with Seann's character becoming embroiled in a series of bloody, on-screen punch-ups.
Seann said of his fight scene with Liev: "I was in my hotel room watching Wolverine and Salt the night before. I had to use all my strength to take on Liev. He's huge and it was pretty aggressive. That's why the fight came off so well; it really was no joke."
Seann also revealed that it was Doug's physical prowess that first drew him to the role.
Having starred alongside The Rock in The Rundown, the actor confessed that he relished the opportunity to come out on top of a brawl. "I wanted to be the guy that got to beat people up for a change," he said.
