Susan Sarandon is to help decorate the green room for the Oscars.

The Academy Award-winning actress will collaborate with designer David Rockwell on a photo installation in the backstage area, reported Architectural Digest.

The 67-year-old star, who won the best actress Oscar for Dead Man Walking, is working with the veteran architect and designer to curate a digital display of images honouring movie heroes and Oscar history.

They are also selecting the film stills inside the stars-only space, where nominees and presenters hang out before or after taking the stage.

David has designed the Oscar stage twice, for the shows in 2009 and 2010.

The Oscars ceremony, which will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will take place at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2.
