Salma Hayek: Savages is refreshing
Salma Hayek says movie-goers will see a different side to director Oliver Stone in his latest film.
The Platoon and Wall Street filmmaker has turned his focus to Mexican drug cartels and their encroachment into the USA in his new movie Savages.
And Salma, who plays tough gangster Elena in the drama, said the film was both "violent" and "poetic".
"There is something so young and refreshing," she explained.
"It could have been done by this new genius, a 25-year-old new guy. You can sense Oliver Stone in it, of course, but there's a beauty in the way he interprets technology and who we are today and violence, it's poetic and different."
Savages also stars Blake Lively, Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta and Benicio del Toro.
