Sally Hawkins confused Tom Cruise

Sally Hawkins has revealed Tom Cruise looked confused when she scooped the best actress Golden Globe last year.
The 34-year-old British actress was unknown in Hollywood until she starred as the eternal optimist Poppy in Mike Leigh's 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky, winning the hearts of American cinema-goers, and the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy or Musical.
Sally joked: "[Tom] looked slightly bemused and a bit angry actually."
She went on: "It's probably just the way his face is but I did think, 'It's Tom bl**dy Cruise looking at me up here on the stage', it was quite amazing."
She remembers returning home "looking at my Golden Globe on the kitchen table and thinking, 'My God did that definitely happen?'
"When America responded to Happy-Go-Lucky like they did, it was so incredible.
"When you're proud of your work and know you've done a good job and people are embracing it and responding to it, there's nothing better."
Sally stars in new feel-good film Made In Dagenham, directed by Calendar Girls' Nigel Cole, which tells the true story of a protest which snowballed and led to a revolution in equal pay for women, and is already tipped for an Oscar nomination.
Asked about the rumours she said: "Aah, really? My God that would be amazing. It'd be a bit of an understatement to say it would be a beautiful bonus but then if you begin to believe that hype, you're probably going to be on your way to tripping yourself up."
