Zoe Saldana boldly went where few women would go, in a daring outfit as the Star Trek Into Darkness cast beamed into Los Angeles for the film's premiere.
The 34-year-old actress, who reprised her role as Star Fleet officer Uhura in JJ Abrams' sci-fi sequel, showed off her svelte figure in an almost-sheer gold Rodarte gown with striking orange Oscar Tiye sandals as she posed alongside co-stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Alice Eve, John Cho and Karl Urban.
"Expectations are high but (fans) can expect an amazing movie that is going to move them, in every means of the word. It's going to cater to all of your senses and it's going to make going to the movies worth it," she said.
"The reason why we go to the movies and we sit down with our bucket of popcorn is just so we can be taken for a ride. We can imagine ourselves being these characters and feeling whatever it is they are going through, but also wishing we were in a spaceship travelling across the universe."
She continued: "This movie definitely does all of that and even though I shot it, when I saw it I felt like I wanted to do all those things. So I know other people will feel the same way."
Chris, who returns as James T Kirk, added: "The spectacle, the action and the characters' stories are all a lot bigger. This is a romance, a comedy, a drama, a thriller and an action. It's so many things beyond a Star Trek and science-fiction film and I think people would be inclined to watch it even if they're not a Star Trek fan."
