Zoe Saldana has revealed she loves throwing herself into action scenes.
The 34-year-old actress, who reprises her role as Star Fleet officer Uhura in JJ Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, gets to fight and throw punches alongside her male co-stars, who include Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto.
"I think it's awesome that Uhura can kick a**. I think she would think it's awesome and she loves it. I love it too," she said.
"I love fighting, I love turning, I love kicking, especially when you give me the biggest, tallest dude and you go, 'Only in a movie will this be believable'. I can kick him and he will go 'Oof'. But we are doing a movie so let me just enjoy this," she added.
"I feel very happy that all of these actors, the director and the crew are great people," she said.
"They are people I did stay in touch with from the first instalment to the next one. You need a bit of levity, because you're working 12 to 13 hours and you're imagining the unimaginable."
"Jim is still writing and hopefully by early next year, we will be shooting it," she teased.
Star Trek Into Darkness is in cinemas now.
