Ruth Negga set to star with Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt in Hollywood drama
RUTH Negga must be pinching herself today. It’s just been announced that she is to star with two of Hollywood’s hottest names in next year’s big movie release.
The Irish/Ethiopian actress, who became a household name playing gangster’s girl Rosie in RTE’s Love /Hate drama has been cast by Steve McQueen in his upcoming drama Twelve Years a Slave.
The director who made sex addiction drama ‘Shame’ and the Cannes Palm D’Or winning ‘Hunger’, both starring Michael Fassbender, has cast Negga as a runaway slave in the movie, Variety has reported.
She joins fellow Irish actor Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt in the big-screen adaptation of Solomon Northup's 1853 autobiography, which has been co-written by director Steve McQueen and John Ridley.
There Will Be Blood's Paul Dano has been cast as a brutal slave owner, while Monsters actor Scoot McNairy - who stars in Killing Them Softly alongside Brad Pitt - is to play a circus employee.

Negga who has bowed out of the next series of Love/Hate and can next be seen in the TV series Coup starring Gabriel Byrne before she begins filming with Brad Pitt in June.
