Mark Ruffalo has revealed that he might get to star in a standalone Hulk film.
The actor - who was introduced as Bruce Banner and the Hulk in the 2012 Avengers movie - told Digital Spy that studio Marvel is thinking about a spin-off focusing on the character.
"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it," he said.
"When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it."
However, he suggested any plans for a Hulk film are in the very early stages.
"There's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be," he said.
"I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut. I think the Banner/Hulk storylines [are] obviously not an easy nut to crack."
Even if the standalone film doesn't come off, Mark's role as the character is set to expand in the Avengers sequel.
The actor will reprise the part in the upcoming Avengers: Age Of Ultron and recently told Total Film: "[My role's] even bigger than last time, and it's more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc."
Principal photography is already under way on Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which will be directed by Joss Whedon and will also star Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Samuel L Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader.
It is scheduled for release in May 2015.
