R-Patz wants to be an action star
Robert Pattinson has revealed he'd love to do more tough action roles.
The Twilight heartthrob, who plays a vet in new circus-themed film Water For Elephants, said he's keen to try some more edgy parts.
"I like the idea of working with little kids and working with animals because it is always unpredictable and always fresh, but I also want to do a movie where I shoot a butt-load of people, just because it's cool," he said.
The 24-year-old admitted to some jitters about the response to his new movie, which also stars Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon.
"I had such an incredible time making it. I would love it if you could make movies and they were never released. That would be so cool," he said.
"That would be the best job in the world. I'm only nervous now."
Another key co-star in the film was an elephant called Tai, who director Francis Lawrence brought R-Patz to meet before the star had even read the script.
"We went to meet Tai, and I just have a thing with animals," the actor said.
"I think Francis already kind of made his mind up."
Water For Elephants is due for release in the UK on May 4, with Robert and Reese expected to attend the London premiere on May 3.
