Andrea Riseborough is to honoured with a Shooting Star award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
The rising British newcomer, who appeared in Made In Dagenham, will next be seen in the big-screen adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go with Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield.
She plays Wallis Simpson in Madonna's film WE and will star alongside Andy Serkis, Dame Helen Mirren and John Hurt in Brighton Rock.
The jury, which is made up of European film industry professionals, said: "Riseborough is one of the biggest talents of her generation, with a magnetic screen presence and amazing technique.
"Her ability to totally immerse herself into a character makes her naive, love-struck waitress in Brighton Rock a touching and tragic victim."
Nine other up-and-coming stars, including Ireland's Domhnall Gleeson (Never Let Me Go, True Grit) and German actor Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) will be presented with the titles.
"As the likeable loser in Sensation, Domhnall creates a unique world around the character with his quirky screen presence. It's a touching performance, full of intriguing contradictions," the jury said about the Irish star.
The awards ceremony will take place at Berlinale Palast on February 14.
