Rickman in talks for Gambit role
Alan Rickman could be joining Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz in Gambit.
The Harry Potter actor is in talks to appear in Michael Hoffman's remake of the 1966 caper movie, where he is tipped to play a rich man who becomes a victim to Colin's thieving character, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Veteran British actor Sir Tom Courtenay, who has starred in Doctor Zhivago, The Dresser and more recently The Golden Compass, is also reported to have been cast in the film, penned by Ethan and Joel Coen.
Oscar winner Colin and Cameron will take the lead roles originally played by Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine of a British thief and his beautiful sidekick.
Filming for Gambit is expected to start in May in London.
Alan's next big-screen outing is in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Two, where he reprises his role as Potions and Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher Severus Snape.
