Reynolds: divorce has changed me
Ryan Reynolds has admitted splitting from Scarlett Johansson after two years of marriage has changed him.
The 34-year-old actor - who began seeing Scarlett in 2007, before marring a year later, only to file for divorce in December last year - told Details magazine he has moved on but is not ready to start dating again.
Ryan said: "Relationships ending move you from who you were to who you are at a much more accelerated rate than almost anything else on earth.
"Departing a relationship and still maintaining the idea that this is still the same person I married is a great luxury that I experienced. Thankfully I was in a relationship where two people chose to remain on the high road in every regard."
"You've got walls up in a way you didn't before. But you're also open to things in a way you weren't before. I have no interest in dating right now. It just seems so kind of alien to me at this point. I've been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards.
"I'm very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That's okay. I didn't plan on it, that's for sure... but that's okay."
Meanwhile, the Green Lantern star is about to appear in cinemas as a superhero, has starred opposite Sandra Bullock in rom-com The Proposal and featured in Buried, a thriller about a man trying to escape from a coffin after being buried alive.
Ryan said he refuses to be pinned down by one genre of film.
He said: "I'm not declaring nothing, man! I'm getting away with something I'd like to continue getting away with."
