Redford to preach in Come Sunday
Robert Redford is in talks to play evangelical minister Oral Roberts in drama Come Sunday.
The Sundance Kid is said to be in negotiations to portray the late controversial preacher, an early pioneer of TV evangelism who reached millions of followers worldwide over more than six decades, in Jonathan Demme's film, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Adapted by Marcus Hinchey from a 2005 This American Life radio broadcast, the film will focus on the true story of Carlton Pearson, a renowned evangelical minister in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who has to rebuild his church, his family and find his personal faith when he loses everything.
Jeffrey Wright is also reported to be in discussions to play Carlton.
Production is expected to begin in spring 2015.
Robert, who recently appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and starred in JC Chandor's All Is Lost, is currently filming Ken Kwapis' A Walk In The Woods alongside Emma Thompson.
