Daniel Radcliffe was the darling of the red carpet at the London Film Festival with the premiere of Kill Your Darlings.
The Harry Potter star plays poet Allen Ginsberg in the film about a 1944 murder that draws him together with Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
Kill Your Darlings was shot in just 24 days in New York and threw the actors into the intensity of the real-life story immediately.
Daniel said: "The fact that this story is so fascinating and is so largely untold, it seemed amazing to me so it was very exciting that we would get to shed light on that part of history."
He added that he had become good friends with the other actors he had worked with.
"We didn't have any trailers on this movie and I think that was only beneficial because it meant that we all hung out and got to know each other really well.
"I think when you're shooting a film that's this intense in a period that short, you do get to know each other pretty well. It's lovely being back with everyone tonight, it's such a great group."
Jack Huston, who plays Kerouac, and Dane Dehaan, who plays Lucien Carr, were also at the Leicester Square premiere and greeted fans with Daniel after posing for photos as a group.
Dehaan said of working with Radcliffe: "It was a passion project for everyone and everyone was there for all the right reasons. We all bonded for sure. Dan is a real actor and he became a great friend."
The drama also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Dexter's Michael C Hall.
Kill Your Darlings is released in cinemas on December 6.
