Daniel Radcliffe has lined up his first major film role after Harry Potter - as the lead in a Hollywood remake of classic war movie All Quiet On The Western Front.
He will play a young German soldier fighting in the trenches in France in World War One, in an update of the 1930 Oscar-winner.
Producer Ian Stokell said: "Daniel brings a vulnerability and innocence to Paul.
"When we realised how much he loved the script we were really excited."
Daniel, now 20, will perform on Broadway in How To Succeed Without Really Trying before shooting begins on Western Front in early 2012.
The penultimate Harry Potter film, Deathly Hallows: Part One, is released on November 19.
