It's one of the perks of the job - but Rachel Weisz has revealed she hates travelling.

The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actress has to fly all over the world to film her movies but told Esquire magazine she prefers to just stay at home.

Rachel said: "I don't like travelling, which is ridiculous - and it's not because I'm afraid of dying on the plane or anything, I just like to stay at home - it's a pretty hilarious problem to have."

The British star lives with director boyfriend Darren Aronofsky and their three-year-old son Henry in New York, but says that when she first met The Wrestler director she was embarrassed.

She said: "I didn't want this cool indie director to see me in this stretch limo. But as I stepped out, he was waiting there. I was like, 'Argh! S**t' I felt like such an idiot."

The couple began dating in 2002 and Rachel starred in Darren's film The Fountain with Hugh Jackman in 2006.

The full interview is published in Esquire's February issue, on sale Thursday January 7.
