Quentin Tarantino will be 'roasted' in New York

Quentin Tarantino is to feel the heat as he gets 'roasted' by Hollywood icons like Samuel L Jackson and Uma Thurman.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker will sit in the hot seat for the 2010 Friars Club Roast, as 'Roastmaster' Samuel leads stars like Eli Roth, Patricia Arquette, Neve Campbell, Michelle Rodriguez and Rosario Dawson in flinging comic insults at him.

Samuel, who worked with the acclaimed director in Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds, said: "I'm excited Quentin asked me to be the Roastmaster at his Friars Club Roast - having known Quentin as long as I have now, there are many stories I've kept tucked away for a moment like this, [and] I'm not so sure he won't regret asking me once the afternoon is over!"

Friars Club's Dean Freddie Roman added: "Quentin Tarantino will join a small group of entertainers who have been brave enough to sit in the hot seat and be roasted by their peers. Having seen Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, I can only pray that he understands that we only roast the ones we love."

Gene Simmons was the lucky recipient at last year's comedy roast by the legendary club. Previous 'roastees' include Chevy Chase, Kelsey Grammer, Bruce Willis and Whoopi Goldberg.

Quentin's roast will take place at the New York Hilton, New York, on October 1.
