Pettyfer hopes for multiple sequels
Alex Pettyfer has said he hopes there will be many sequels to I Am Number Four, so he can play his character "over and over".
The 20-year-old British actor stars as Number Four, aka John, in the sci-fi thriller based on a novel about a group of young aliens who come to hide on earth after their planet is destroyed. And even though the second novel is not yet published, Alex wants to be in the sequel.
He said: "I think the most important thing is you find a character that you work well with and I think John has this amazing quality to him that I really love. I would play him over and over and over again."
Alex added: "I just hope people go and watch this movie and really enjoy it and help us get to make a second, third, fourth, so we can see where all these characters can go."
Alex's character finds love on screen with a high school classmate played by Glee's Dianna Agron.
He said: "It was amazing working with her... she brings this lightness to the movie. I think the romance on screen is a beautiful thing because even though my character is superhuman, he's reluctant to be so.
"It's a very complicated thing love, there's always something trying to muck it up. John is destined to become this warrior and he wants to be a normal kid, and the more he falls in love the more his legacies kick in and I thought that was a great dynamic."
:: I am Number Four is released in cinemas on Wednesday 23 February.
