Ellen Page is to direct Anna Faris in a movie

Ellen Page is to make her directorial debut with drama Miss Stevens.

The Inception star will head behind the camera for the film, which stars Anna Faris in the title role, reported Deadline.

Written by Julia Hart, the story focuses on a drama teacher who rediscovers her self worth and gets her life back on track after she chaperones a group of high school students over a weekend trip to the state drama competition.

Ellen, who has been acting since she was ten and has starred in Juno, Smart People and Whip It, will be on screens in the upcoming Zal Batmanglij film The East and Peter Sollett's drama Freeheld.

The Canadian actress, who will star in the Beyond: Two Souls video game, is also set to reprise her role as Kitty Pryde in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
