Al Pacino is set to make his animated movie debut in Despicable Me 2.
The Scarface actor will voice a villain in the eagerly anticipated follow-up to the 2010 comedy film, reports Deadline.
Character details haven't been released, but it was previously reported that the film would feature a baddie called El Macho. Javier Bardem was in the frame for that role, but last month it was reported that the Spanish star was no longer attached to the project.
Although it isn't known whether Pacino's character is the same one Bardem was due to play, it is known that he will be up against Gru, who will once again be voiced by Little Miss Sunshine's Steve Carell.
Many of the voice actors from the original film are expected to reprise their parts, including Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews and Will Arnett.
Plot details for Despicable Me 2, set for a 2013 release, are being kept under wraps.
