The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner was persuaded by TV presenter Keith Chegwin to star with him in the film about a breakfast show whose presenters keep mysteriously dying.

Keith revealed: "Tony Blackburn puts in the performance of his life. I've worked with him for years and years and I know how he works, but I've never seen him act.

"I wasn't concerned but I thought, 'Is he any good?' His first scene at Pinewood Studios was his dying scene, and he got a standing ovation. Honestly. He was absolutely brilliant.

"It was seeing Tony Blackburn's (fake) head being chopped off and seeing it roll on the floor, because the prosthetics are so good. Even Tony went, 'Good God! That's what I look like!'."

The former Swap Shop presenter enjoyed starring in the film and thanks Ricky Gervais for giving him a chance to show off his acting skills in Extras.

Keith said: "It's funny because Ricky Gervais asked me to do Extras, and on the strength of that I got this, and I was also in Life's Too Short."

:: Kill Keith is in cinemas now and released on DVD in March.
