Oscar producer promises surprises
Oscar show producer Adam Shankman has promised viewers will be "surprised by a lot of stuff" at this year's awards.
The Hairspray director is currently helping to put the glamorous show together and thinks audiences should expect the unexpected.
"We are going to see a lot of surprises this year, definitely," he said.
"It's funny because I just think of it as the show, because we've been working on it for months and months and months, but I think suddenly I've realised the audience is going to be surprised by a lot of stuff, yes there are definitely going to be surprises!"
But don't expect a mystery third co-host to be joining Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin on stage.
"I love that there is that rumour on the internet but that was never true, we were never talking about a third. Do you know what I think happened? I think we were talking about having three hosts on the pre-show and someone took that as the show and so it was just never true," Adam explained.
With the big day, March 7, approaching, the pressure is on for the show's production team.
"I do wake up in the middle of the night with sweats!" Adam laughed. "Now we're getting into the I just don't sleep part. The emails start flying through fast and furious starting at about 3am. I think if we weren't so detail-orientated and hands-on and didn't care quite as much as we do I think it would be easier but we are bound and determined that every detail is perfect."
The Oscars take place in LA on March 7.
