Olsen: Oscar nod would be amazing
Elizabeth Olsen has said earning an Academy Award nomination for her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene would be "insane".
The actress, 22, has been the subject of Oscar buzz for her portrayal of a young woman suffering from paranoia after fleeing an abusive cult and returning to her family.
Elizabeth - the young sister of famous twins Mary-Kate and Ashley - revealed at the BFI London Film Festival: "I would feel really awesome (if I was nominated), I would feel pretty amazing. I'm not expecting anything but that would be insane."
The star also admitted she found it difficult to switch off from the film's serious subject matter between takes.
"During the day between scenes was a little bit more difficult than going home at night. Going home at night was always easy, you just take a shower, go to bed, that's that," she explained.
"In between scenes if we were moving from one scene to the next, because we had very little money and very little time we would film about five, at most six pages a day and so you'd try and only be present for that and then skip to the next."
Sean Durkin, who wrote and directed the thriller, was full of praise for the leading lady.
"She's nothing like Martha! She's fantastic. She's extremely hard-working, extremely smart, level-headed and so focused it's scary," he said.
He added: "For her it's all about the work, which is so great to see. I'm just glad to be a part of her career."
Sean also admitted he was flattered by suggestions of awards success. He added: "It's just nice to be talked about, but you just focus on what you're doing and that's all you can do."
