Gary Oldman has confessed he hates the "drab" grey uniform he wears to play Commissioner Gordon in The Dark Knight Rises.

The Red Riding Hood star is reprising his role as the head of Gotham's police force in Christopher Nolan's next Batman film, due out next year, but admits he hates getting dressed up for the part.

Gary told the Daily Mirror: "That costume is dreadful. My drab greys and beiges."

He continued: "I just went to the production office the other day and all I have there is a rack of very dull clothes. I mean - give the guy some life!"

But Gary admits he will enjoy shooting the film, despite the dull suits.

He added: "But I am looking forward to working with the gang again... the Academy Award-winning Christian Bale. I guess he's not going to get my coffee any more is he?"

Gary played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films, the last of which is released this year, and said he is very proud of young stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint for coping so well with fame.

He said: "These kids have gone through puberty and life lessons. There could have been drug addiction and all sorts of horrific things, but they kept all of these kids and they all have their heads straight on. I give them props and I tip my hat to them. Job well done."
