No Plane dressing down for Bowen
Julie Bowen has said she was determined to maintain appearances while recording her voice role in Planes: Fire & Rescue.
The 44-year-old actress, who lends her talents to air tanker Lil' Dipper in the Disney sequel, said she still dressed up for her studio sessions.
"My mum was going, 'You can look hideous'. But I was like, 'Mum, people are kind of looking to meet the celebrity person'," she explained.
"Just the thought of people going home at the end of the day and going, 'Oh my God, she doesn't even shower! Honey I met her, she's disgusting!'"
Despite getting the role from her recognisable voice, the Emmy-winning actress, best known for playing Claire Dunphy in US sitcom Modern Family, admitted her three sons wouldn't let her practise Dipper's dulcet voice at home.
"My children detest when I do voices," she said.
"We read Harry Potter together and they would only allow me to do Hagrid. My Hagrid was acceptable to them. Everything else, they were like, 'No mum'. Eventually I slipped Hermione in there a little bit," she added.
:: Planes: Fire & Rescue is released in cinemas on August 1 in Scotland and across the rest of the UK on August 8.
