Hairspray fans won't be getting a sequel.
Director Adam Shankman has confirmed there will not be a follow-up to 2007's hugely popular remake, which starred Zac Efron.
"I'm going to kill that rumour now, that got killed," Adam said in Hollywood.
He added: "It's ok, I was so happy with the first one, let's leave well enough alone. It's all good."
The director-and-producer joined the cast and crew of the US version of TV show So You Think You Can Dance for a glitzy viewing party to celebrate the launch of the seventh season in the States.
The former professional dancer revealed all about how he manages to fit in judging on the show around his hectic film schedule.
"Talk to my assistant, it's all about the scheduling, it's complicated!" he laughed. "I have a lot of jobs outside of the show, coming in and doing this is purely because I love it. It's become like a family to me."
The director explained he'd become particularly close to his British co-stars, presenter Cat Deeley and fellow judge Nigel Lythgoe.
"They're like my soul mates, I love them so much. Cat and I have got into lots of trouble on the road and Nigel and I will never stop getting into trouble. It's great," he said.
