Nighy couldn't get handle on guns

Bill Nighy has revealed he couldn't get a handle on the guns for Wild Target.
The 60-year-old plays uptight assassin Victor Maynard in the action comedy caper and had to learn how to shoot a gun, which took some time getting used to.
"This is my first assassin - I wasn't prepared for the recoil and I wobbled the gun about, which is slightly embarrassing, so I don't think I'll be making James Bond or villain anytime soon," he said.
He added: "I'm not easy with guns. I've never held a gun before until I did this movie, and I don't have any plans to do it again anytime soon. We didn't do any training."
But Bill wouldn't mind holding a gun again at some point. "It was good fun. I'll do it with a machine gun," he said.
The star also said he could relate to his character.
"Victor is anally-retentive and isolated as a result - his commitment to order is total and in that respect, he's a weirdo. When I told people that I'm playing a lonely, anal-retentive, middle-aged guy, they said that's not far of a stretch," he said.
"I like playing people who are restrained to the max, where you get to squeeze bits out. I like being in some sort of personal trouble, it gives you something to do."
:: Wild Target will be in cinemas on July 18.
