Nicolas Cage quits Trespass
Nicolas Cage has walked out of new drama Trespass just two weeks before it was due to start filming.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice star was set to star with Nicole Kidman in the film, directed by Joel Schumacher, which is scheduled for shooting in Louisiana later this month.
But insiders told Deadline Hollywood that Nicolas has quit the project leaving them without a leading man.
Millennium Films is apparently forging ahead with the start date and is about to cast a suitable replacement.
Nicole plays a woman taken hostage by thieves looking for an easy pay day. Nicolas was to play her husband, but within the last two weeks it was reported that this had changed so he would instead play the leader of the kidnappers. Millennium offered the husband role to Liev Schreiber, who is yet to accept, and now Nic has quit the project altogether.
