Neve: Scream 4 was like summer camp
Neve Campbell has confessed the new young cast of Scream 4 made her feel old.
The 37-year-old actress returns as feisty heroine Sidney Prescott in Wes Craven's fourth instalment in the Scream franchise, along with Courteney Cox, David Arquette and a new younger Scream generation including Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin.
Neve said: "They were five years old when the films came out. Courteney and I were a little depressed at first. We were looking at each other like we could be their mothers."
But she agrees the newcomers can entice a new generation of audiences. "Absolutely. There are a slew of young people who aren't aware of the Scream films. Wes was really intelligent in bringing in the younger characters."
The actress admitted she was reluctant to return to the role at first, but enjoyed the "summer camp" like reunion.
Neve said: "Ten years ago, I'd sworn I would never do another one. I thought we were lucky to do a good trilogy and to leave it at that, so I was very apprehensive," she admits.
"But it's 10 years later, and I thought it might be fun to revisit these characters and cast, and also for audiences to see it again.
"It was about seven months before I said yes - just because it was a really big decision and I wanted to make sure that the concept was good and we were doing it for the right reasons.
"It's been 15 years since the first one and we've all known each other and been through a lot together, so it was very easy and very smooth."
