Natalie Portman to direct movie?

Natalie Portman has reportedly been working on her first project as a director

Natalie Portman is apparently set to make her big screen directorial debut.

The Oscar-winning Black Swan actress is adapting writer Amos Oz's autobiographical novel A Tale Of Love And Darkness for the cinema, according to Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom.

Natalie, who was born in Jerusalem and whose father is Israeli, has apparently been working on a screenplay with two writers and recently submitted it to Oz.

The Israeli author approved the script, and Natalie is now planning a trip to Israel to scout locations for the movie.

Natalie, 32, is also expected to star in the film about the author's early life in Mandatory Palestine.

She was first linked to the movie adaptation in 2007.
