William Shatner really really wants to see TV3 weatherman Deric Hartigan in Zoolander sequel
William Shatner is still campaigning to get TV3 weatherman Deric Hartigan a role in the new Zoolander movie.
Earlier this year the 88-year-old Star Trek actor posted a tweet to his 2million plus followers comparing Deric to Derek Zoolander, Ben Stiller's flamboyant model character from the original film.
Zoolander? Can I make a casting suggestion? @deric_hartigan who is the Zoolander weatherman from Ireland!
And this weekend he was on the case again, tweeting, "Zoolander? Can I make a casting suggestion? @deric_hartigan who is the Zoolander weatherman from Ireland!"
Deric replied that he was due a visit to LA.
The sequel to the hit 2001 comedy is currently being shot with Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller reprising their roles as the top male models in the world.
It will release in February next year.
Deric, however, is currently engaged in less glamorous pursuits, completing the Finglas 10K this weekend.
