WATCH: 'Sex, infidelity, deception, obsession, more sex' - dramatic The Girl on the Train trailer has landed
It was hailed the new 'Gone Girl' when it was published, and now the first trailer has landed for The Girl on the Train big screen adaptation.
Set to Kanye West's Heartless, it's an atmospheric and tense offering and it looks like Emily Blunt might be giving the performance of her career.
Based on Paul Hawkins' bestselling debut, the film stars Blunt as Rachel, a girl who becomes involved in a crime mystery after seeing something from the window of the train on her morning work commute.
Rachel is an alcoholic and it turns out that her ex-husband's (Justin Theroux) nanny Megan (Hayley Bennett) has gone missing.
However, Rachel regularly blacks out and cannot remember what she did the night Megan disappeared. As she becomes more embroiled in the case she finds herself fighting to clear her name.
Director Tate Taylor has promised "sex, infidelity, deception, obsession, more sex, a little bit of murder and plenty of cocktails".
The film releases on October 7.
