It's that time of year again when Hollywood heads to Dublin to showcase some of the best Irish and international films on offer this year.

The Audi Dublin International Film Festival (ADIFF) runs from 16-26 February with some of 2017's most anticipated films being screened throughout the city.

Irish talent will be out in force with Cillian Murphy, Jack Reynor, Moe Dunford and Aiden Gillen all set to attend.

International stars such as Anna Friel, Ross Noble, Natalie Baye and Free Fire director Ben Wheately will also be in town for screenings and premieres.

This year's festival sees Hollywood royalty, Vanessa Redgrave, honoured with the prestigious Volta Award. The award is reserved for those who have made an outstanding contribution to the world of film.

The English actress comes from an acting dynasty, going back five generations. Her daughter is the late Natasha Richardson, wife of Liam Neeson.

Redgrave has been in the business for over 60 years and has six Oscar nominations to her name. She was awarded an Oscar in 1978 for playing the eponymous Nazi resistance fighter in Julia.

Redgrave - who stars in Jim Sheridan's latest film, The Secret Scripture - will attend a gala Irish premiere of the film and receive the award on the night.

Tickets are on sale from tonight at 6.30pm and the digital programme will be available to browse and download from www.diff.ie.

Tickets are also available by phone on +353 1 687 7974 or in person at DIFF, 13 Ormond Quay from 10am, Thursday, January 19.
