While on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, the Hollywood star addressed rumours of a sequel to the hit film, which also starred Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards.

"Is it true there's going to be a Top Gun 2?” host Graham asked. Tom played it cool, and simply answered, "No."

However, Graham pushed the star further, showing him a tweet from Top Gun producer Jerry back in January, which originally teased the idea of a sequel.

"Just got back from a weekend in New Orleans to see my old friend @TomCruise and discuss a little Top Gun 2," Jerry captioned the snap of him posing with Tom.

After seeing the incriminating tweet, the 54-year-old star finally admitted things were happening with the sequel. "Yes, we’re discussing it,” Tom explained. "We’re trying to figure it out."

"Oh do it, go on!" Graham said, as the audience cheered.

While on the show, Tom recalled his flight training experience with the United States Navy’s elite fighter planes while filming the original Tony Scott-directed movie, and confessed to becoming a little queasy while in the air.

"When you first start flying you get sick,” he said. "Like, fill a bag sick."

"The first pilot I flew with, his name was Bozo,” said Tom, and he recalled how they performed several heavy G-force manoeuvres on the first day. "We did a really heavy manoeuvre, we pulled like nine-and-a-half G's, and you go out. You've just kind of blackout. And when I came to, I had my barf bag at the side of my (leg), and I thought, 'Now I'm going to get it done (vomit) so I can do the next take'.

"So I lean down and at this moment, he (Bozo) decided to pull up. He pulled up so hard and for so long, my head was literally touching the ground," he laughed.

After chastising his pilot, he revealed Bozo told him, "They don’t call me Bozo for nothing."
