It has been a long time coming (28 years in fact) but Beetlejuice 2 is finally happening.
Tim Burton, director of the original cult horror which boasted a brilliant performance from Michael Keaton, has finally confirmed the news.
Speaking to Showbizspy, he said, "The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team. We have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board; this includes both Winona and Michael."
"We have the script in hand, everything is in place - all we need to do now is get ready to start filming."
Winona Ryder had confirmed the film would happen when she appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers in August last year but this is the first time Burton has been definite about the film.
Seth Grahame-Smith of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies fame is down to write the screenplay and it has not been revealed whether or not other stars including Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis will return.
