David Bowie fan Domhnall Gleeson has said he would love to play the legendary singer in a movie.
Gleeson, who is currently gracing the big screen in The Revenant and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, joked about tackling the role on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Friday.
The 32-year-old star is a big fan of Bowie and said he can't believe the star has passed away.
"I saw his play that Enda Walsh co-wrote on Saturday night. It was amazing," he said.
"It gained so much power even afterwards. It's mad to think that he's gone."
Should there ever be a biopic on Bowie, Domhnall joked he's more than equipped to play the part.
"I can absolutely sing. I'm game. As far as I'm concerned this is mine for the taking and I'll see you at the Oscars next year," he joked.
Domhnall stars opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and Will Poulter in The Revenent, the latest film from Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The film is one of four of Gleeson's films nominated for the Oscars this year. He also stars in Brooklyn, Star Wars, and Ex Machina which have all been shortlisted.
