Saoirse Ronan to fly home for Irish premiere of Oscar tipped film ‘Brooklyn’
Film star Saoirse Ronan will jet back to home soil next month for the Irish premiere of her new movie, Brooklyn.
Ahead of its November release date, Brooklyn will have its Irish premiere at Dublin's Savoy Cinema.
On Thursday October 22nd, Saoirse will attend the red carpet event alongside author Colm Tóibín, whom penned the original best selling book.
The film's director, John Crowley, and producer, Finola Dwyer, will also be in attendance.
Brooklyn tells the story of Eilis Lacey who emigrates from a small town in rural Ireland to New York in the 1950s in the pursuit of love and a new life. However when she briefly returns to Ireland, she finds herself torn between a new suitor Jim, and the boyfriend she has found in America.
Seeing as pivotal scenes were filmed in Wexford town, Saoirse and Colm will also attended a black-tie screening of Brooklyn on Wednesday October 28 in a makeshift auditorium in the ballroom of Enniscorthy's Riverside Park Hotel.
It is rumoured that the film's other leading stars Domhnall Gleeson, Emory Cohen, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters may also attend.
Limited tickets will be sold to the event in Enniscorthy, on a first come first served basis from the Riverside Park Hotel reception.
